Coffee with Coach

I was sitting in my car this morning when it hit me.

I recently liked a couple of posts from someone I haven’t spoken to in almost three months. Someone who hurt me deeply. And I didn’t feel anger. I didn’t feel longing. I didn’t wonder if she’d read into it.

I just felt peace.

That’s when I realized —

There’s a difference between being mad and being done.

Being mad still carries attachment.

You replay conversations.

You want accountability.

You want them to understand the hurt they caused.

But being done feels quieter.

No more overexplaining.

No more emotional performances.

No more needing closure from people committed to misunderstanding you.

Healing starts sounding less like anger…

and more like peace.

One day you realize you can think about the people who hurt you without needing answers, access, revenge, or reconciliation.

That’s when you know something in you has truly shifted.

Being mad still reaches back.

Being done finally lets go.

That’s Coffee with Coach for this morning.

Grab your cup. What are you finally done with?
